History

Standing in Baku's Old City, within the fortress walls inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List, this is the oldest place of worship in the city. It was built between 1078 and 1079, during the reign of the Shirvanshah Farrukhzad II, by the architect Ustad Muhammad ibn Abu Bakr.
