History
Built between 1912 and 1913 by the architect Ziver bey Ahmadbeyov, commissioned by the oil industrialist Haji Ajdar bey Ashurbeyov, this mosque is one of the rare buildings intended for the joint worship of both Shia and Sunni communities; following its expansion in 2011, its capacity reached 3,000 people.
